Purgatorial Incarceration

0 posted 1999-08-14 05:18 AM

OK, I couldn't sleep, so you all have to suffer the depravity of my tired wanderings!

Visions of a deep-sea blue,
a twisted midnight hue.

Haunted pictures, dread that grew,
madness real or so untrue?

Bound in dreams without a clue,
through my mind, so dark, I flew!

Then bright light, a whole new view,
ghoulish remains of Thanatos' crew.

A curse of hate at me they spew,
reviled, I then took my cue.

My heart so heavy, filled with rue,
if one can play, then so can two!

So I made my way through hell's strange zoo,
to meet the demon, and demand my due.

"Release me now!" I beg, I sue.
I tremble and shake, I cry, that too.

Then came this, from the one I woo;
"What have we here? It's a bleating ewe!"

He cocks his head, his eyeballs skew,
"Let me go, oh please!" I coo.

Of what his thoughts, I never knew,
those memories are so dim, so few.

But on that night, I often chew,
‘twas weird to wake at morning new!

Christopher, if I had something handy to swat you with - I would ! You say you can't write - I thought this piece was quite comical ! Especially knowing that it was written while you were HIGH on Mt. Dew, no doubt....LOL Of course you can't sleep, you silly man!! No Dew's for you after 8pm...you got that? This is your mother wanna-be talking to you !! Really nice little rhyme - did you make a list of all the words you could think of first, and then pull from there? Interesting idea for rhyme....might try it sometime....

I really like this one, Christopher! I identify with sleeplessness. I like the flow and playfulness of this one. Thanks for a good read

NO MORE MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!
But...but...poet...I couldn't...I'm suffering withdrawls already...nnnyyyhhh...augggh..!!!
(by the by, if you're my wanna-be-mom, then I think I need a psychiatrist, because I'm coming down with a severe case of the Oedipus Complex!)
And in a way, I made a list. It started as standard verse, but I had too many "oo's" so I made a list and...
-Thank you Moonlight, sleeplessness is rough, but it gives you more time!

I am a therapist, however, I am not your mother ! (Thank Gawd) so you don't need an appointment after all ! Now, do you feel better knowing you no longer have a disorder ? **giggling*
