There is a method to my maddness, which I wish to share with you. It's why I lose my sanity, those times I'm feeling blue. See my dreams of schitzophrenia, when I talk to me and me. Through bouts of paranoia, Eyes everywhere we can't see. And I can be compulsive, yes I can, I can, I can. Or maybe co-dependant, I need you where've you been? But a manic-depressive, is how you find me now. So leave me and just go away, it never matters anyhow. ------------------ Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll be among the stars. -Unknown- |

This poem was well written, but I am not sure if it is making light of mental illness or if it si sincere in its words. I get a little of both with it. Having a 17 year old son with Bipolar (Manic/depressive), I have found that mental illness is nothing to scoff about. He has a genuis IQ of 125 and because of his illness, will probably never make anything of himself...or at least until he recognizes that the medication does help and he does have a problem. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

When I make "light" of something, I in no way mean it to be demeaning or depracating. It's just my personality to be humourous as often as I can (in real life) My writing however, is usually the balance to my nature. If you notice, most of my other stuff is darker and deeper. ------------------ Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll be among the stars. -Unknown- |

You know how when I read 'Old Men' to you and you said it was well-written but just not accurate - well same goes here dear! Well written indeed but just not insightful to true schizophrenia! Yes, I know you incorporated other illnesses too. Hey - love the way you spelled humoUrous! |
