I lay on the grass, looking high, to the powder blue sky
a small tear slips slowly from the corner of my eye
pushed to the ground, and quickly held down
Young boys hands roughly squeezing my small breast
as they rush to satisfy their new carnal quest
cruel laughter ringing in my ears, as out slips another tear
They've had their fun

Run little girl run

Down again upon the grass, not too much time has come to pass
an older boy this time, very nearly a man
forces me to please him by the use of my hand
He releases a sigh as again I softly cry
my hand satisfied his selfish desire

Run little girl run

This time a man
takes my innocence, as only a man can
thrown onto the dirt, body bruised and hurt
I struggle, I scream and softly I plead
" please Mr man, Please, let go of my hand"
His face an ugly smirk, as he roughly pulls at my skirt
Now bleeding and alone, I must be getting home
I brush off the dirt and pull down my skirt
not only my body but my soul now deeply hurt

Run little girl run

To where do I run?
for I am a motherless one
no one to understand, as only a mother can
To wipe off the dirt, to wash the blood from my skirt
to make me feel whole, to repair my torn soul
So I stay where I am, broken and alone
for there's really no where to to run
for this motherless one.

Extremely hurtful and disturbing to read.
I wish I could comment but words escape me.

It's a shame so many women have to suffer through such things. I'm so sorry for your loss of innocense at such a young age.

thank you for your response.

Don't be sorry for my loss of innocence at a young age, it will always come at one time or another!

katt? I've thought about your poem all day now.. and still.. i just..mmm..

I'm wondering what kind of response you were hoping to receive??..

I have had.. err.. some experience.. in this subject matter.. (trying to hold back..)

but I hope you really do feel better getting it out.. or is this... a "made-up" poem.

Doesn't sound like it to me.. so if it is.

You got my attention

if it isn't.. you have my sweetest thoughts...and (((hugggs)))

Thank you Delores. Someone is with me.

redwriter1, I don't know what sort of response I wanted, maybe just someone to read it and see if it touched them.
And yes this came from within me, but I know the human soul can take so much before it breaks. Mine is far from broken.
Thank you for your response.

Disturbing. I pray that the little girl has stopped running and found somewhere she feels safe. God bless.
