The day still hides warm on my skin As I walk past the beach Where the sun hides away And children still frollic In tiny voices Echoing to me. I want to be there again Though I am only twenty-three My heart falls short of Its long ago song Into a lullaby I can't quite remember. I want to try with everything in my chest To sing into the dying wind To sling the water about And make ripples that never end So that it may bring back the days The warm summer days Maybe I will try tomorrow To sing like the children In a voice all grown-up Untill the sun falls And the children go home And I pray for a dream to bring me back again. |

I know it's kind of sloppy prose, but I try. |
