To this I Swear

She patterns my life like a play.
With love and deeds a page each day.
To make a sweet serenity.

Yet she says we rule the same.
Equal love and equal blame
And equal share fraternity.

We sipped the wine of wedded bliss.
And held the promise of the kiss.
And kept our faith and purity.

And heaven could not bid us more.
No matter of, which side the door?
In lovers faith and chastity.

So why do I, this calmest sea,
Feel doldrums of anxiety?

when anxiety comes haunting you...things may be "too good to be true"...i enjoyed the meter and rhyme of this poem tremendously

When things seem too good, we always feel anxiety wondering what might go wrong. The man with nothing to lose, fears nothing. The rest feel anxiety.
