You called me on the phone today And said, "Sweet One, how are you?" You act like we spoke yesterday But it's more like a month or two. We speak of things so trivial When really from the start I long to tell you more, my love Like how you hold my heart. I'd tell you how I miss your touch Your eyes, your voice, your smile But to you it's a race already won Pursuing not worth the while. I realize now you know these things This is just a game you play To see if your love hold over me Has lessened or gone away. My eyes are open, I see the light Can it be I'm finally free? Maybe next time you call, I won't pick up Thank You, God, for Caller ID! |

..and a sense of humor too.... I love this one!!!... ![]() ------------------ Nay, if our wits run the Wild-Goose chase, I am done: For thou hast more of the Wild-Goose in one of thy wits, Than I am sure I have in my whole five. ~ ²1592 Wm. Shakespeare ~ Romeo & Juliet ~ ii. iv. 75 |

"this is United States calling, are we reaching?"...alas, caller ID is useless when it comes to international calls and in a lot of other instances as well ![]() [This message has been edited by elvira (edited 08-10-99).] |

Nan--thank you for noticing! I do hate to end on a whiny note...most of the time : ) Elvira--so true, maybe an answering machine in order to screen those calls? [This message has been edited by Terri (edited 08-15-99).] |
