I watch you as you lay there...
so frail and so afraid.
Skin so pale, but still so soft and beautiful.
My eyes get wet.

I want you back;
which seems so silly, considering
you haven't left me.

I see such worry in grandpas face,
He is so strong, but feels so helpless.
I have never in my life seen such a love,
A love as powerful as the one you two have for one another.
I can only dream of having half of what you two share.

Grandma, you're scaring me.
You both look so worn, ready to give up.
Don't you care that i'm not ready???
Not willing to let go.
Not yet, and,
Quite possibly,
Not ever.
I love you so!

**A letter I will never send.**

Sad, but I liked it. It should be sent. Should never wait until it's too late, to say the things we should.

I liked it very much. The first thing in the world your grandpa would want to see is this one, written by a loving granddaughter, and the last thing in the world he would want to see is you not showing him this.

What are grandparents there for? Your grandpa's still there.

Thanx, i'm happy you liked it BUT my grandma is dying of cancer and I thought this letter of mine was kinda' selfish sounding to say the least...I had to write it to vent my feelings to someone but I can't do it in this way to them.

Very sad, it's always hard to have to sit in the sidelines while a loved one slips away. I think you should write another poem describing how much you love them both, and all they've done for you. I am sure they would feel very greatful for kindness in their time of weakness.

Sunny: But she doesn't want to leave you... and no one can ever be told they're loved too often or in too many ways... If not with this poem, tell her somehow. And my sympathies...

How can it be selfish to love someone, and admire the way she loves? You are going through a terrible time, and love is the only comfort.

Sunny, I agree with Lost Dreamer. Write one telling them how much you love them.

sorry for 1) late response. 2) misinterpreting some of the poem. The decision is yours, alone, to show them. But, beautiful writing. If you are afraid of this one expressing too much, of how you see their love towards each other, maybe another poem written with that part slightly omitted somehow, can work? Good one, Sunny.
