I know I don't love you I've finished the hurting And started all over alone. Most days I don't think of you More than a moment It's been a long time since you've gone. But sometimes a song Brings a flood of old longings That wash all the hatred away So that I see the man Whose caring and gentleness Guided me through yesterday. The thoughts of our good times, Though shadowed by bitterness, Make me wonder what might have been If with all the regrets And in spite of the failures We could have managed somehow to stay friends. |

Suthern, you are excellent! I know you've been hampered by those two,uh, usurpers hanging on your coattails dragging ya down, but put away those foolish things and spread your wings and fly! I have no idea what I just said......what I mean is this is a wonderful poem. More, please! |
