I thought you were asleep that starry february night as I slowly carefully untangled your arms from mine. I thought you were asleep when I gently nervously rolled you to your back I thought you were asleep as I looked down at you and drank in your beauty I thought you were asleep still as I whispered to you softly telling you what I saw they way your eyebrows curve the shape of your nose how you smile when you sleep with me I thought you were asleep when you turned back into me arm sliding over almost lazily to my chest I thought you were asleep as I kissed you there on your forehead and said I love you I thought you were asleep. |

I liked this poem.. I remember telling someone I loved them while they slept. To afraid to claim it while they were awake. |

My, my...what a beautiful piece of work here. I thought you were asleep when I professed my love with quite whispers and soft kisses and as I kissed the sleep from your eyes I realized that you'd heard everything ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

Ok, maybe I'm sick (go ahead) but at first I thought she was dead. I'm glad that she isn't (I hope!) because this was beautiful yet in a way sad, maybe because I've been there too, afraid to speak the truth out loud. ------------------ Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll be among the stars. -Unknown- So let the sun beat down upon my face, It's warmth will dry my tears. |

Hi everyone. I would just like to thank you all for taking the time to read this, and even more for the time taken to reply to it. This poem is very special to me. It's about a very special woman and a very special time in my life. I doubt if I'll be posting here for a while now, so I'd also like to thank those who have posted there works here. I'm sorry if I havent replied to your works, but there are so many great poems come on here each day I wouldn't know where to start! Please believe me when I say that there is a lot of talent in this forum and I have been touched by many of the words I have read. I guess that's it for now... I'll prolly put a poem up some time when I've got something to say, but for now, goodbye my friends. |

Eric, you haven't asked us if you could leave...what makes you think you can abandon us like that with no reason?? You can't GO anywhere - you belong here with us !!
