Ah Lass
I've been bedeviled
alot
by an Angel
Standin'
right before me eyes.
Life's
has been sweeter
since then.
It's like right
after a spring rain
the rich aroma
of the newly plowed
ground
or right after
a man loves
a woman.
Tis' no ordinary
Angel she is
jus' wantin' to disappear
inna a puff of smoke
after givin' a message.
Stayed she did
an answer to me prayer
an'
I'm not a prayin' man.
She spoke to me
twice
voice clear to my heart
rich in love
everlastin'
compellin' drivin'
me to write of my love.
Page after page of my Love's
desire
I did write
of many things
that I do not regret
to have written
only
not have done in person,
In ink
not of sweat and tears
Of Beauty
unkissed
untouched
Aye-what a woman.
