A small little package, handled with care. Held up triumphantly, won by a dare. He made the winning touchdown, scored the last basket, kicked the last goal, and told everyone else “You’re gonna get your a-- kicked.” He’s wearing a new pair of Nike’s, his beloved Polo shirt, his Hilfiger jacket, nothing scuffed with the slightest trace of dirt. He’s got the typical bimbo cheerleader on his arm, his teachers wrapped around his finger. he goes to the hippest parties, but doesn’t stay around long enough to let his reputation linger. He thinks he’s “all that,” but he doesn’t know what “that” is. And as for that little package (no, not THAT little package), he doesn’t know it’s there. He’s too entranced by life’s little pleasures, and those stupid obligations, like keeping the lawn mowed. So when he does have some time, he still doesn’t realize that his ego box has overflowed. |
