Stargazing©1999 Genea Parker

I’ve walked a lonely path
Looking to the stars,
Dreaming dreams, wishing,
And guided by my heart.
Ignoring the many choices
Others had made for me.
Believing in only myself
And my personal destiny.

My journey now has ended
Stars have begun to grow dim.
It’s nothing that I’ve done,
It’s all because of him.
He led me along a path
I did not think to look back.
I found out much too late
It had all been an act.
I believed all his lies
Deceptions, untruths
Not because I had to,
But because I needed to.

I gaze up at the stars now
And the creamy Milky Way
Hoping to regain myself
And love again one day.

CSwtThng......this was not about me, but thanks for the concern anyway. Got this idea after watching one of those Lifetime movies!
