Stained Glass Windows The windows are glazed with an imperfect glass that colors and distorts the view beyond by mingling the brilliance of an undistorted image with streaks of drab impaired by imperfection. They camouflage the splendor and the grace of an arc softly clinging to a fragile far horizon. Dimishing the value of the quality of life by interjecting chaos and confusion. Through such are the windows that all men must discern. Therefore they see the world somewhat distorted. If they fail to understand the imperfection in the glass they won't recognize the flaw in their perception. [This message has been edited by Ohme (edited 08-01-99).] |

Most of the time we think of stained glass as works of art. However, flaws in the glass, usually antique change the perception of what is beyond. I related it to the the vision of those who have flaws in the windows through which they see life. Thanks for the comment. |

Beautifully done! I see how perceptions could be clouded so. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

Interesting view. Does this also pertain the the infamous 'rose-tinted glasses'? I like the treatment of this piece, sort of like structured free verse through the quatrains. Reading aloud gave 4 beats, but it was a little rough sometimes, as some lines could be spread to 5. Just some thoughts. Alicat |

Thanks Alicat, probably does apply to Rose colored glasses. Unless the glasses represent no more than hope. Anything preconscieved that effects the interpretation of issues may distort that which needs to be seen. Correct, I had problems with meter. But allowed words to stand because I could think of nothing better to use. Thanks for your remarks. |

Trouble with meter or not, those last two lines justify everything. Expertly done. |
