You closed your eyes and slipped away
Upon the breath of God
I know it's peaceful where you are
But life will now seem odd

I see you there in flowing gowns
With Grandma by your side
You travel in and out of view
Just like the ocean tide

Dear Lord, don't ever let me loose
The image of your face
The mother that gave birth to me
And helped me find my place

You nurtured me and helped me grow
With love and tenderness
I'll always feel you close to me
My mothers sweet caress

You'll never be completely gone
And in the mirror I'll see
The beautiful reflection
Of you staring back at me

The special bond that we have shared
Is something that will stay
Our life eternal partnership
Death cannot take away

You'll live forever in my heart
As precious as can be
My time with you upon this earth
Too short now, I can see

We said the things we needed to
Before you went away
I know you love me very much
There are no regrets today

So now you go to be with Him
Our Lord has called you home
To be forever in His love
You'll never be alone

Someday I will be there with you
With Grandma and the rest
Together through eternity
In paradise so blessed

what a beautiful poem I couldn't imagine such a great loss but you expressed it profoundly.

I read most of your poem then had to stop to wipe the tears from my eyes. Truly beautiful!
