You couldn't have known me, just a few years ago. The events in my life, had brought me so low. First came acceptance, the most difficult part. It took twenty years, for the healing to start. Next there was anger, something, I now hate to see, It brings out the worst, in you and in me. Then there were questions, all day and all night. I was searching for answers, that were nowhere in sight. I just needed a friend, a person to tell. But with defenses so strong, you'd been better in hell. I then started writing, in words, what I felt. When stopping to read, my soul seemed to melt. I couldn't believe it, I was feeling that stuff? Then came the tears, I wasn't so tuff! I continued my writing, and cried most every day. I lived in a depression, that would not go away. After some time, the poems started to heal. So I continue on writing, just what I feel. |

So many have been there, and are there now and writing can help to get your thoughts in order, then we just have to make sense of them ..:-) HUGS ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. |

Many of us use our writing for therapy... It's cheap, always available... and sometimes something worth keeping comes from the chaos. |

I have been there, but am afraid I was not so fortunate at one point. I went almost 15 years without writing a single word for to write meant to bring my feelings to the surface and it was easier not to feel at all then to feel the hurt. This poem says a lot...writing is catharasis, a cleansing of our souls |

This is very good. A lot of poets say they never put themselves into their writing, I think if we look deeply at the heart of every poem, we will see the heart of the poet. Even the poems written in your darkest moments should be cherished..they build the structure that is you. |
