Time scatters
Open fields before me
Lights that flicker in the night
Rude words are said and lost
As time continues on
Brief pauses in in life hault our creativity
We leave ourselves open for review
But who?
Who will judge you?
What will find us left with no rainbow of glory?
Time scatters on
Dusty fields with people who have dusty thoughts
Thoughts flow in and out of our minds
We hear the wind call our names
Time scatters
It surrounds us in blood shed tears of joy and pain
We try to rewrite the details of the past
Time is all we have
It scatters fast and leaves us here
We are the judges
Hold true and stay strong
Remember there still is life
After time has scattered on

Today I remember a friend that was dear and true.. This is why I did this repost..

"Sometimes at night the wolves are silent and only the moon howls."

I missed this the first time you posted it, LC... I'm so glad you posted it again. This is a treasure. It's well written, melodic, and meaningful. Plus, one of my favorite subjects. Thank you for sharing.

Time shattered on the floor
Today
Broken into billion shards
Spilled coffee on formica
Hands autoshaking
Vivid memories
Out of place and mind
Time slides by
With subtle ease
A corpse upon oily seas
Leaving me naught but palsied
I recall, dimly, the light in your eyes
They were blue, right?
Blue eyes bright with life?
Or maybe they were brownish
Not that it's important
Just something made me think of you
The coffee cup I dropped
Reminded me of you
I make my way to my comfy chair
In threadbare slippers
And an old polyester jumper
Finding the phone to call
An old, dead, remembered
Friend
Before I weep
And sleep

Alicat feeling a tad morose
