Imaginary World You attempt to serve me melted poison ice cream on a disposable candy spoon. You terrorize me with your cynical smile. I shiver frightfully unaware of my pending doom. Lost in my imaginary world where flightless bodies seem to soar above me, where visions on the TV screen enter my world as reality, where I analyze you like a robot trying to program you to respond, where as everyday passes I fall deeper into my imaginary world. |

There's something about this poem that I really like. Can't put my finger on it.. it's not the usual type of poetry I like. I guess it's like a Stephen King novel.... |

Thanks for the reply Saxoness, & Poet deVine Now I will explain I wrote this about my Father-in-law who was on morphine due to terminal cancer. I wrote it in his perspective, but the way I was seeing it and feeling it at the time. I happen to be the lucky one to be without a job at the time, so I was the one there to jump at his commands. It was only 3 months, but felt like a year. |

I really like this poem - it grabs me as it drifts from reality into the imagination. It sounds like it was a hard time for you by your father's side and I admire you for standing by him. |
