To be young again I dream sometimes of being there Dancing in the rain Never having to cut my hair. Running after the ice cream man Screaming for him to stop I ran and ran and ran The first ice cream of summer, you could not top Riding my bicycle Till I was breathless and faint Then playing on my brothers tricycle When I was caught, acting like a saint No school, no job, No cares no care Just eating a corn cob Bought at the state fair Everything new, everything fun No bills, no boss, no bed time Nothing is ever in a hurry to be done If I do something wrong, it is no big crime To be young again would be great But, there would be one drawback High school, college and that very first date Due to these, I will never go back I have my life I have my profession I love my wife And I am perfectly happy with my meditation Of the time I had And the friends, family, and fun Of the time I spent with my dad When we sat fishing in the sun |

Thanks for the memory trip. Yah, I could have gone for more too, but I'm not sure how. I had a great childhood. Hell, I even liked highschool and college. First dates... got some wonderful memories there too. Would love to do it all over again, but I'll just have to be content with getting older and thank God that I've got kids to help me relive those earlie carless times. Thanks again. |
