An Earnest Request

I look back and wonder
I fondingly keep looking back…..
How I do long for a chance
To start my life again...
to grab what life offered,
for just a fleeting moment then,
the emotions of al lifetime,
in just that moment together.
Oh I wish, I wish, Oh yes I do,
To reach out to my dreams and you.
For all my patience and grey hairs,
For all my sacrifices of dreams and
Rainbows,
for my no to my own happiness,
for my yes to smiles of those anchored on me.
Life, dare I ask you in your grace?
To bestow once more, just once,
that moment at that crossroad,
To let me now say YES,
My yes to love,
To our blessed togetherness,
and to you,
at this hour of life's sunset.

Sad. Penetrating. Moving. Well written. Neither life nor opportunities are confined to this most mundane of spheres. There is always cause for joy, for hope. Sacrifices made from the heart always return tenfold. Nothing is ever lost. Smile...
