knowing you never knew - did you? how much i loved you. looking back, now i see what i should have done. instead of always being there ever ready for you to lean on. listening to your tales of woe and giving you my best advice. i should have been listening - listening to my own advice. if only i hadn't been so blind i would have realized that ..... you and i were not that much different in fact, we were very much alike. you loved her - i loved you and somehow we missed one another. if only i had told you - told you how much i loved you. would it have been enough to have saved you, and brought you to me? this is something i'll never know, for now it is too late. i was silent for too long, and now you and i can never love ..... one another. it would have been wonderful - you were always good to me, and you loved me in your own way, but i didn't realize it. if we could try again, would you? this time i would tell you how much i love you, and ..... this time you would know. ~ celtic rose, 1989 ~ |

unspoken words lasting regrets *sigh* ------------------ i never call a poem "nice" or such, for that would not be saying much |
