it was raining last night the drops- one by one by one weaving a pattern on my windshield my wipers never working "get new blades" you knocked on my window as I pulled out of the lot and I laughed at you, smiling but that was a week ago and the two of us much closer then isn't it amazing what a little time and a few words can do to divide two? If I had known it would come to this- me:looking for a sign of you stuck in the night and aimless in the rainstorms perhaps I would have listened perhaps the broken blades like the falling scattering rain wouldn't be reminding me of you with every drop they try to wipe away ------------------ And I thought: this is how poetry is born. It comes from invisible heights, it is secret and dark in its origins, solitary and fragrant, and like the river it will assimilate whatever falls in its current; it will seek a route between the mountains, and its crystalline song will ripple through the meadows."- Pablo Neruda |

this one was supposed to post differently.. I had spaces between the line :: one by one by one: to give it a downward cascading sense.. alas...this format didn't accept the spacing... I also wanted the end to be a visual scattering of words as well.. oh well.... use your imagination Christina [This message has been edited by Christina Myers (edited 07-11-99).] |
