Graveyard Visit I entered the graveyard As the wind howled by I noticed the trees And stared at the sky I saw a young girl On her knees she did weep Was it for her lover Who had entered eternal sleep? I walked a step closer And reached to touch her shoulder And looked into the eyes Of a woman much older Then stared at the emptiness Of where she had been And looked at the tombstone Which stated who was within A young girl had died Was she a ghost who sat here? I rushed out of the graveyard Trembling with fear. ------------------ Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |
