urging my horse on through meadow and forest I traverse the mountainous terrain riding not fast, nor slow, but with purpose the sky fanning above me, crisp blue and crystal white foreboding peaks, lending their spiked fingers to the view as the scenery unfolds around me, untouched by man dark green of the pine, riotous colored wildflowers nature, painted by God's own hand, almost as if for this solitary show the rythmic creaking of leather on leather, hoof on stone lulls my mind into a hazy abandon, the ride takes on a mystical quality I dream I can hear the trees speak, age old tales, stories untold virtuous deeds, and lovers spurned I wonder at the secrets these monarchs could reveal the rocks sing of fair maidens, come to sit in peaceful solitude as the bubbling stream, in inviting chorus, calls; "come rest weary friend" my soul transported to a happier time, when man was nature's patron as my eyes drink in the majestic vestige, realizing this is but a fading dream ------------------ Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.....Henry David Thoreau |

Singing rocks and talking trees. That mountain air must be REAL thin! Oh, by the way, it is a thing of beauty, as your poems always are. |

You have taken the awe of nature's beauty and expressed it so very eloquently... I truly love this one! Great work. |

You've captured natures beauty within the beauty of your words. Excellent! ------------------ *Krista Knutson* "It's a crazy thing, fate has perfect wings..."-Deanna Carter |

WOW! How do you do it darling? You know how close this subject is to my heart and soul and you've written about it wonderfully. As long as there are people like you that still care, maybe we can stop the vestige fading too quickly? |
