One Tuesday whilst mending his shoe Little George wandered into the zoo and there he had found something left on the ground -the keys to the bear cage...Yahoo! Peering over his shoulder, right-left! he stole inside the cage like a theft, found the bears fast asleep still alert did he creep, or of life he would soon be bereft! Now I'll let you in on a thing, outside the zookeeper did sing... "Oh damndable day! supervisors away and I've lost the bear key off me ring!" Fearing the zoo be destroyed, he did something he rarely enjoyed he set his bear traps baited with ginger snaps If it failed he would be unemployed! Now back in the cage George had found a sum of loose fur on the ground and with sap from the trees he applied it with ease now he looked like a bear - without sound... What fun and what glee he would make! The children around him would quake when they saw the "bear" George On their bones he would gourge Don't go George! Its a mistake! In the bushes zookeeper did wait, when saw a "bear" open the gate and saunter out of the cage George pretended to rage oh no! What will be this bears fate? Zookeeper popped up, as to lure George pounced so to claim his first score landing square on the trap it snapped shut with a clap! Oh the curses and swears he let roar! Fearing this noise the "bear" made, zookeeper came forth with a spade and with many a whack 'bout his head and his back poor George- he was starting to fade There lying in blood, black and blue in a bear suit that really looked true as zookeeper, that mizer gave a big tranquilizer he cursed, best he could, on the zoo PW Stay tuned for Part II - Curious George and the rehab clinic... http://sites.netscape.net/poetwheel ------------------ Poetic Wheelbarrow |
