She Stood Alone She stood alone but oh so tall And how we waited for her to fall Laughing behind her back for fun Knowing she was feeling glum We took pleasure in her pain This great beauty now so plain Alone she was- that’s how he left her Ms. Perfect no longer so secure She has not wavered, I wonder why I thought by now we’d see her cry She just keeps on going at normal pace The only evidence is pain on her face We stood there waiting as the door closed Finally she would not be so composed The sound we heard still rings strong How I see now we were oh so wrong We took such pleasure in her pain She never let us see her disdain How alone she must have felt As we stood waiting for the Ice Queen to melt How cruel we were- how sad the end She must have needed one true friend She closed the door on her life Didn’t she know she was more than a wife? But how could she-we never tried And alone was how she died As we all stood in shock and misery We never tried to help her see. ------------------ Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

Strong...reaches out for children, young ones, middle age and old folks. Only the strong, who see through the farce, and envy, of others...survive. |

a feeling of quiet resignation and remorse comes from this. |
