Can love stand the test of time? Everybody get in line. The rich can buy what they need. While the beggars cry and try to feed. Their children whom they love and whom they clothe. In rags that could never keep out the cold. Will they live or will they die? Only God could know And only he hears them cry That's why he's promised paradise. The box they live in is so old. Worn and tattered, full of holes So big the rain beats on their souls. The rich are warm inside, but cold. Should joy decide to someday warm our hearts? For its been there from the very start. Do we really want to live or to die? Only God could know, and that's why we cry. That's why he's promised paradise. ------------------ Luke Cakalic |

Loved your poem. I voluteer at a soup kitchen and with a food bank. Also other things such as rides to doctors etc. Generally, i'd say they didn't bring it on themselves. They have mental problems. Often they can't fill out the forms the government requires and there is noone to help them. You have a great deal of talent. Like David Cooperfield i say while holding out my bowl, "more please". Please give us more of your wonderful poetry |
