I think it'd be nice if we had the option to go back and edit the email notification... not just within that 24 hours of the post, but later.

When I put an initial post up I don't want to get the replies in my email inbox because I know I'll see the replies in the forums... but once the post goes into archives it'd be nice to have that notification.

Did that make sense? If not I'll explain more later.
If it'd be too hard, or if I'm just being absolutely lazy, then I completely understand!

You know, that's a pretty good idea. When a post is new, you're more apt to see the replies. But when someone reads from the archives, you may not know it.

I wonder how it could be done? It would be a hassle for the Mods to go back and do it for you...and I don't think the software can be programmed to do it..hmm....do you have any ideas on how it could be done? Or at what point it should be done (like 10 days after a post is made? Or when it's archived?)

I've been thinking the same thing, too. A few years ago I quit marking the notification box, thinking I would see it when it popped back up in an Open forum.  But once archived, [and the archives HAVE been busy lately ] then outside of my earlier posts, I will miss any comments that I may want to respond to, personally.

Putting "thinking" cap on....

Also might be useful for people whose threads become unbearably popular and grow tired of seeing notification upon notification pop into their inbox.  Particularly in discussion threads...

Good then, I'm not alone! Whew...
When it comes to how everything is done with the technicalities of these forums, or any computer related thing for that matter, I'm completely clueless (that's why you're so great, Ron... Thank You!). So I don't know what kind of options would be viable for this, if any... I thought I'd just throw the idea out there and hope for the best.

What about maybe a whole new box we could check? ...one for "Email notification once thread reaches archives." But like I said, I don't know what you can do.

(It's after 6 AM and I haven't slept yet... uhh, for three days. Excuse whatever makes no sense!)

Me too!  I love to see that someone goes into the archives actually.  I quite often will look around then email the person to re-post something that I think would be really great to have new members read.  Good idea.

Generally a dead thread in "suggestion box" means that your suggestion has been overlooked.  Oh well.

You sure it's not on the list for "soon", Bri?
