As well as writing poetry, i also like to read famous poets. People like Wordsworth, Shelley, John Masefield, Walter de La Mare and Ted Hughes, realy help me to understand poetry, i am interested in how they write and the subject matter that they cover. You can read a poets subject matter and try to do justice to it yourself. How would you write a poem that they have covered differently?.....Most people just write about certain areas, this might just inspire them to try a different area. If any of the members of PIP do like to read famous poets, maybe they can share some of their poetry on a section to be determined by the head people of PIP, then they can see what the named poets write like and hopefully absorb some of their genius. Just an idea.... Goldenrose. ''Each soul is potentialy divine..the goal is to manifest that divinity'' |
