Is there any way that users could be able use a select group of font faces or attributes (italics, bold etc) in the subject/title field?
Just to add an extra little accent or mood to the title/subject of the piece

I think that would be hard to do, because the subject between Passions in Poetry and A Family of Friends, in the blue bar at the top, is already in bold (I'm pretty sure)... so having say, the </b> code in it would likely mess it up, and make the first part of the title all in bold, and the second part all in skinny...

things like that... I'm sure there are reasons we can't do this already.

LP's right, moreso than he might know. You can't even use the bold tag in a link. Instead, you have to use something called CSS (see this link for a recent conversation about it: /pip/Forum60/HTML/000023.html   . While this would certainly be possible with a little tricky programming (and Ron's the man at that) I see a really big problem with presentation. Right now, with all the links looking the same, etc., it's tidy and easy to read. What do you think it might look like with half a dozen different fonts, sizes, colors, etc.?

- - doh - forgot to turn off html!!!

'Tis true... With a list of titles all looking different, it could be pretty distracting.  As it is, we've actually got to read the words instead of responding to a color or a graphic.  We get lots of neat stuff when we open the post, don't we?
