she flies through the night like a comet her children watch with wandering eyes and silver tears alas, they have no wings. their dreams have become longings and wishes of a sacred gift feelings of freedom, of love soft against forgotten faces. for a moment she falters the weight of regret like lead plucks her from the sky, her light fades on the ground. three sets of eyes wide one child smiles and stares a feeling of joy in his tummy sick like envy. he lifts from the ground energy, spite, revenge all his a set of coal black wings given to him, him alone. the children watch with hollow eyes glad they do not fly on tainted wings wishing they never do. with hope they walk on four hoof beats for each one a rythemic sound soothing to their souls. |

This is a very interesting piece. I read it twice and found some enticing lines in here. Care to give a little background or insight into it's meaning? I'd be very interested. Thanks for the read. ![]() |

Wow! that is very powerful. the meaning I'm getting from it is that it's about a drug addicted mother, her children forced to see her throw her life away, and in the end, one of them follows in her path. |

Very powerful piece. The imagery in this one is great!! ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |
