I was on a 'light' kick on this day. Don't know where it came from.

Waves of light brings the seas swell into view.
At the Point, you can see it,
A magician's touch,
Mother nature's, arts highest form.

The crashing of the sea
Sprays our feet, relaxing on the beach,
Receding into itself, as ever,
Feeling the others cool touch of skin.

Night falls with moonlit waves of blue and white,
Scurrying back as night waves do,
Lacking the subtlety and detail of day.

We fall asleep to these bright night waves,
Every night,
The same old tune.

We are as the waves,
Rushing into each other hastily,
As night assumes day,
As the white wave light shines our way.

John...the imagery in this piece is wonderful!! It's great. I love these lines:
"We are as the waves,
Rushing into each other hastily,
As night assumes day,
As the white wave light shines our way."
Are you familar with Erica Jong's poetry, this put me in the mind of it a bit.

Thank you. I am not familiar with that name or poetry. This is one of those poems where for someone reason I visualized this/imagined it happening, and decided to put it into words. I was happy with how it came out, considering that what I envisioned/almost felt would be very hard for me to describe. I hope that others can see what I saw/imagined.

Tyson
I for one had no problem seeing it.
I will send you some of Erica Jongs work sometime. She was known for a book she wrote I believe in the 70's that caused quite a stir and was banned from many libraries...the book was called "Fear of Flying" She is also a very talented poet and her works, though some extreamly erotic are very moving indeed.
Anyway, wonderful work, thanks for sharing.

Yes, beautiful imagery. It felt as if the waves were washing over me. Very nicely done!

Thank you Denise. That's what I was going for here was imagery. Almost completely. Glad you liked it. Take care.
