Laced Tightly

Shimmering gossamer strings of love unwind
Then ever so tightly forever bind.

Mother’s admonitions ring through my mind
Then ever so tightly forever bind.

Memories of father’s words soft, still kind
That ever so tightly forever bind.

Amazingly we began with a glass of wine
That ever so tightly made you mine.

There was a moment when love we found
(There lies the lace with which we were bound.)

Please do not think that you’ll ’ere be enshrined.
(As I struggle against the laces which now bind.)

For you’ve done much, so much to malign.
(Still struggling against the laces that bind.)

Now against memories’ laces I’ll ne’er cease to fight
Although they remain, and are indeed, laced tight.

I've read this a couple times now...and it certainly has got me thinking. Excellence, as usual Sunshine.

Sunshine Girl

This was a wonderful poem - you set it up so well, and progressed so smoothly from beginning to end. I love it. Very nicely done.

This poem just sort of came along of its own. If you got you thinking, Satiate, that's wonderful.

and LJA, thanks for both "ditto" comments!!

Very nicely written. I have read it twice now and each time got different meanings from some of the lines. Very unique writing style. Two thumbs up on this one!
