Smooth with water going down
Ironically takes o'er my crown
Inebriating parts of me
Slows me down, making me dizzy
Pushing sleep upon my brain
And taking over every vein
I fight with vigor, aimlessly
To keep from fading, tastelessly
Can't concentrate or focus in
On things that lie here deep within
But oh, it's sweet to feel so numb
Instead of terrified and dumb
And oh, it's sweet to sanctify
My body with this bottle dry
Oh, it's sweet to feel this way
Wish I could do this every day
For now, I'll screw the lid back on
Of Sweet, Sublime, Don Perignon

I can think of many ways to alleviate many things. One in thing particular seems to be a sovereign remedy for most of what ails me. Care to guess what that is?

Completely true for parts of society today and well written. I myself do know about days like these in which I must dwindle down this lonely road.

Thank you all for your praises! I actually wrote this while nursing a cold, intoxicated by TheraFlu (good stuff ain't it?) and I just figured a bottle of wine sounded much more dramatic than TheraFlu. Don't cha think? hehehe

Thanks to all of yaz!

Seymour: Thanks... I'm getting better slowly but surely... Doesn't it seem like the older you get, the harder it is to kick a cold?

hehehe...girl! And here I'm sittin, inebriated on my own cup 'o thera flu...and you're right..a bottle of wine does sound more..hmmm...poetic (hehehe) but in the state I'm in now, it would all taste the same.

Hopes ya feel better soon!
