This was a challenge from Elizabeth to write a poem with the line ::It seems to be a curse that follows you everywhere.::

You are just a good guy it shows in the way you care.
It seems to be a curse that follows you everywhere.
You can’t seem to find a girl to love you just for you.
And when one leaves, you come to me, asking what to do.

I have no great suggestions to help you in your plight.
There is no book I know of to tell what’s wrong and right.
You could be like others and let hatred rule your soul.
In time this path will hurt you, bitterness will take its toll.

Then you’ll no longer have the need to feel love in your life.
Your heart will wither up and die if you hold bitter strife.
So just continue to be a good guy and show them that you care,
it seems to be a curse that follows you everywhere.

I agree, being nice can indeed be a curse.

Lucie! I love it! thank you for writing this-glad you took the challenge! All right, now you challenge me if ya want! And it's true that being nice is almost a curse-some take it as an invitation to treat you as their doormat. Well done!
