FIRMAMENT Rescued from a dark firmament: I'm away from its oppressive sting built up from disillusionment where I could not do a thing Claustrophobic was that heart No one could enter, or exit from there but I took a chance, and in you stepped to catch my senses unaware You came in as if you owned the place and stole all that was inside; a knowing look played upon my face from the corners, I watched, and spied But when I knew you'd do no harm I leapt out of the gloom and threw you around me like a cloak, we exited that room The room was built of shadows cast upon thick walls of lead whence emanated voices from the past I did not hear what they said Because I was too far away By the time I harkened to hear- I sensed that I'd missed nothing as I turned away my ear We are here in a different place built from elements made of light where there is no time, no sense of space and banished is the night Let us ascend the new firmament and view from it the sky above with stars and planets looking down on us jealous, at once, of this love. -- August 1999 |

I think I like this one best of all your work I've read tonight. More please! ------------------ The only man worth your tears will never make you cry... |
