Lt me have my dreams oh Lord
if you spare me nothing more
God, I swear, they're all I have left
to ease this heart so sore
At least within my dreams oh God
I can have what I most miss
Everything that I gave up;
his words, his touch, his kiss
Please God, let me keep my dreams
and the life I live at night
At least within my reveries
I can pretend my life's alright
In the world I reach through sleep
I have the one for which I yearn
and this time I won't let him slip away
From my mistakes I've learned
Please God, I know you think
that my dreams are never real
But every kiss is just as sweet,
and every touch I feel
I'm begging you Lord, even though
my fantasies aren't what they seem
God, if you spare me nothing more
Please let me have my dreams

That's the really good thing about life - no-one can take our dreams away. And sometimes they even come true!

Emmy, I love it. This is another painful poem that has beauty in its sadness and expressions.

Toerag-LOL! Sounds like it hurt.

Thanks to all of you... and just a side-note... last night I actually DID dream that I was back in school and I got in trouble for carving my intials into a desk! I guess my old conscious is coming back to haunt me!

If we can't have dreams we have nothing.
Dreams build cities, worlds and lives.
Wonderfully written, it is a prayer for us all.

If anyone is interested, I dreamed the other night that I had to walk 100-200 miles to a cabin up north--without my shoes. LOL!
