I can remember when I was everthing young. Still in school, quite nieve I was much the fool. Hot hazy summer days, filled with bikes, baseball, and fishing, and at the heighth of my blaze Wanting to grow up before my time, not even realizing I would soon hit my prime. To long I sat, and dwelled upon, I blinked and like the summer's breeze it was gone. Now at 33 I can see things I can do no longer, not like in my youth, when I was so much stronger. 33 is not old by any means, yet I can still visualize those youthful scenes. Now when my son expresses his thoughts of growing up, and being a man, I say son hold on to your youth as long as you can. [This message has been edited by Richard 33 (edited 09-10-99).] |

wise counsel to your son. I am about to turn 21 and I can look back over the past two to three years and see how much time I have squandered. I think we all take youth for granted while we have it and then take our wisdom for granted which replaces our youth. Great poem and keep em comin. jFreak |

Thanks for the reply. It's good to know this poem is understood as it was intended to be. wisdom is a precious commodity the only trouble with it is that you usually have to get older to get it, but I wouldn't go back to being 18 agian, unless I could take my 33 year old brain with me. |

Very good Richard. Reminded me of that saying that youth is wasted on the young! ------------------ Denise |
