The music moves through your soul,
It lifts you up or takes you to another plain,,
It can strengthen you, renew a goal,
It can help you see sunshine through the rain.

It caresses your being so softly,
For me it can even cause goosebumps,
From beautiful haunting lyrics,
To minor notes that make my nerve endings jump.

Some music has a certain quality,
It captures a thought or yearning,
It's almost like a holiday,
For me it keeps my world turning.

Why does something so old and simple,
Have this power over me?
To make my being ripple?
And put my strength back where it should be.?

Music soothes the savage beast,
Is used in celebration,
It has many powers to say the least,
It was there in the birth of this nation.

If you try really hard you can hear it too,
The music that's all around you,
It's there in Nature, Family and pain,
It's there amongst the falling rain.

There's music in birdsong,
In housework, repetitive work as well,
It shortens a day that is long,
It's there in the ringing of a bell.

It's all around us to pretty this world,
To tell it's own story,
And if you ask me,
It's bursting with a magical glory.

Isis...I find music to be so moving. Some of my favorite songs are those conducted by no band or orchastra...but rather those presented by nature herself; the songs of birds chirping in the early morning hours before the rest of the world is yet awake, the songs of the crickets at dusk when the sky is beginning to turn from blue to reds and oranges, the sound of a new baby taking it's first breath, its first cry and the whispering voices that the proud parents make to their child as they hold it for the first time.

Hoot Owl...by reading your reply, I realise who the true poet is. Not me!..:
I still have problems describing and flowing.
Thanks for reading it anyway......

Isis....it is quite beautiful, just a nip and tuck here and there and it flows a little smoother....try this, merely a suggestion...a change of a few words and I don't think it changes the meaning any at all. I tried to keep with your original rhyme scheme which you lost in a few places.

The music moves throughout your soul,
It takes you to another plain,
It can strengthen, renew your goal,
Help you see sunshine through the rain.

It caresses your being oh, so softly,
Causing goosebumps on your skin,
From haunting lyrics and notes so lofty,
To minor cords that strike within.

Some music has a certain quality,
It captures a thought or yearning,
It is almost like a holiday,
Its rhythm keeping my world turning.

Why does something so old and simple,
Have this power over me?
To make my being seem to ripple?
And put strength back where it should be.?

Music soothes the savage beast,
A backdrop for all celebration,
It has many powers to say the least,
Present from the birth of this nation.

If you try, you can hear it too,
It's there in Nature, Family and pain,
The music that is all around you,
A serenade amidst the falling rain.

There's music in a small birds song,
In housework and repetative work as well,
It helps to shorten a day that is long,
It's notes found in the tolling bell.

It's all around this great big earth
Left to tell it's own story,
And if you ask me of it's worth
"It's bursting with a magical glory."
