You held up a mirror And showed me a whore. Then you stood silent No need to say more. My every dream Was based upon lies I told myself. Now my anguished cries Fill the night, tear my throat I’m drowned in my shame. Guilty of unwise love… I take full blame. |

I was shocked when I read those words. They were indeed like a slap in the face, as if I had been insulted, even. I'll try to keep in mind that this poem was NOT about you. |

Don't look for any disparaging remarks from me about that finest of men!
