ENDLESS NIGHT I watch Darkness stealing the day, A queen taking her throne. Her palace high in the black sky, I praise this night, alone. Her call harkened, feeling this way, I glean from depths unknown - The prize of sin, peace from within, A light that's never shone. As silence sings I spread my wings, My sights set on that star. From the caged past, I'm free at last - In flights fancied afar. Memory's sting, an echoed ring - Forever falls away. Within the light of endless night, There is no yesterday. Michael, I knew when I opened this I would not be disappointed. I'm amazed how gently you come across with your poems even when they pertain to sad thoughts, or darkness in your soul. (I hope I stated this right) Anyway I really liked this poem, thanks for sharing with us. |

Michael, What a hauntingly beautiful poem. You always make it seem so effortless though I know a lot of thought and emotion goes into it. Really like it. ------------------ Words lay dormant in the recesses of the mind til called forth to a labor of love. By WildChild |

Somehow I find myself wishing I could be that star.....instead of just wishing on it...I echo all that everyone said - hauntingly beautiful as is all your work! Please lend me your pen for one night, so that I may write as beautifully as thee! ------------------ I beckon you to come...I lure you with my tongue... - poet FemmeFatale |

I can understand this peom so easily...I have wished many a times that I might be able to spread my wings and fly free...this poem has reached a depth that very few poems reach(usually just my own). Thank you for such a wonderful piece. Star ------------------ We are only truly apperciated after we are no more! |

You see darkness as 'a queen taking her throne', an interesting interpretation. Most of the classical poets found different interpretations for simple things such as the dawn and dusk, the earth and sea. Keep writing, most magnificent poet! |
