Balladeer, Sir, I just wanted to say I've been the proper student and taken your sage advice to be a bit more prudent! A thunderstorm came up this morn in the wee dark hours 'fore dawn So I went to bed for five hours but woke to find it still raging on! I've taken to heart your instruction and not strayed out the door 'cause I'm afraid that lightning might slap me to the floor! Those stabbing bolts have knocked out power Yet here, to you I write... Might you have more advice to a poet Who pens by candlelight? caroline ![]() ------------------ The only man worth your tears will never make you cry... |

Strange-I have that same habit myself, Caroline! Should we both try to kick it? LOL ![]() ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." |

I think you're doing very well Taking pen in hand By writing under candle light You bravely make your stand. Many greats from years gone by Wrote that very way. Poe, Defoe, and Longfellow Well, what more need one say? Perhaps, by following their style Of using candle's glow The atmosphere that aided them May help your poems to flow. So when the lightning knocks out power Just give a little smile And say, "Hey, Greats of long ago, I'll see you in a while!" |
