My car broke down along the highway,
Near a reservation town.
I had to walk along my own way
In a gorgeous, evening gown.

Soon, I came across an old woman-
her hair was long and braided.
Her teeth were either gone or golden-
her image, rather faded.

She spoke to me and touched my elbow-
I felt her words to be quite strong.
There were things she had to let me know
And she spoke them like a song.

She knew about those evil nightmares
That had been a plague on me.
She knew these dreams that tested my wares
And she sympathized with me.

She took me in to her living room
And had me sit down to wait.
She intended to relieve my doom-
She told that to me straight.

I looked around at her decor-
In awe at how she lived here.
This woman was rather poor,
Though I knew she did not fear.

When she returned, I stood up tall-
She had something to give me.
I did not know what it was called,
But I knew that she would tell me.

It was a hand-made dream-catcher,
To ward away the nightmares.
I accepted this gift from her,
Because she is one that cares.

I hung it right above my window,
Hoping that evil would be caught.
I longed for lovely dreams to sow
Their way their way straight to my cot.

When I awoke that morning bright,
I found that evil passed me by.
I had not tossed once through the night,
And that pleasure was all mine.

I thank that older woman so
For saving me from pain.
The dream-catcher is now my own...
I won't have evil dreams again.

Seems that this Dream was nicely caught by this as well. Wonderful story, dear.

Caught indeed, and tangled in my web... Thank you for your praise.

Thank you, Dark Angel! It isn't my best, but it will have to do for the early hours of morning!
