OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD

Well, I'm off to see the wizard,
That wonderful wizard name Ron.
He created Passion in Poetry,
And the forums we are all now on.

It's rumored he can give courage.
It's well known he can boost pride.
No there's not too many people who -
Could get me on a three day bus ride.

But, Ron, he is the exception.
I knew it right from Passion's start.
See he's the man who made me believe
It was O.K. to have a heart.

So I'm singing this song to tell you -
For a few days I'll be gone.
But don't you worry none over me,
I'll be in D.C. with that magical Ron.

Well said with a bit of Dark jest. Enjoy the ride, my friend.

Michael, great poem, and I look forward to seeing you again, hope the ride is peaceful, and don't forget to bring your pad and pen, cause I'm sure a lot of writing you will do during your bus ride.

I'm sincerely touched, Michael (in between giggles, that is). And I think you
picked a very appropriate analogy, too.

I'm sure you remember, after all, that the Wizard's much heralded magic was nothing
more than allowing people to believe in what was already inside of them? And surely
you haven't forgotten that the Great & Powerful Wizard turned out to be just a
dumpy little guy hiding behind a curtain? Yes, I'd have to say your analogy was
very well selected...

Nonetheless, I look forward to meeting you, too, Michael. And all the others who will
be attending the first (of many, I hope) Passionate sojourns.

(p.s. Lost Dreamer? Just how many names are you hiding behind, tricky lady? )

Michael, unless you have a laptop on the bus, you probably won't read this until you get here, but wanted to tell you how much I am looking forward to seeing you again! We will go downtown, eat at some nice restaurants, hang out on my deck, hang out on YOUR cottage deck..... it will be great!

Ron, Can't wait to meet, you, too! BTW, you never did e-mail me a confirmation! You better be here!!!! Friday night gathering at my house, you know. (oh, and just so you know, Lost Dreamer is NOT me... if that's what you thought... that's my friend Gloria who sometimes hangs out here and posts poems from my computer AND she had the opportunity to meet Michael this past early summer when he visited. I'm sure she's looking forward to meeting you this time, too)

Nan, Who invited YOU? just kidding.... see you in a few days. Drive carefully and don't forget the scallops.... hehehe

FemmeFatale & EVERYONE ELSE-
This get together was planned back before these forums were established, so that's why you didn't get an invitation. But, we have a couple of cancellations for staying in a 5-bedroom cottage on the Potomac River (20 miles from DC). Cost is VERY reasonable. Please e-mail me as soon as possible and let me know if you are interested. Put "DC Trip" in the subject line (sometimes I delete mail if I don't know what it is, without even opening it). The rental is from this coming Thursday September 9th - Sunday, September 12th.

That's a very lucky date, btw! 9-9-99!

A fun piece Michael. Would that I could do such things, but family and work demand otherwise. Enjoy
