I met a lovely woman just this night.
Just her perfume makes this jaded head spin.
This giddy joy wraps me in new delight.
I think for this one I might give up sin.

I take her home to my place for a change.
That is something I don’t normally do.
She does things for me I did not arrange.
Just dumping this woman would hurt me too.

When we were done she got ready to leave.
She said, “You’re a lousy lover, it’s true.”
“If you thought I’d stay, you’re just so naïve.”
“Don’t leave me”, I cried, “I love you!”

I never gave, I was just a taker.
Now I’m just a lonely ex-heartbreaker.
