As I travelled the road to work along the country lanes admiring the views the sunshine and the rain I saw in the distance a fox by the side of the road only me was there no other traffic to be seen as I drew closer I felt compelled to stop calmly, he sat, on the kerb as I slowed his yellow eyes looked into mine I searched for other traffic but none could I find by will he made me slow and stopped is what I did these eyes gazed into mine and my heart slowed he meandered slowly across the road reaching the other side he stopped and stared back at me fox meets rainbow holds the look and as I travel on to work I'll never forget that look...... ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. |

He trusted you not to hurt him. You trusted him. No words exchanged. That's what trust is. |

This is REALLY good! wo/man meets nature, and contemplates the other side of their existance. I love that line: "fox meets rainbow" it puts the picture in my head! (One request. Please don't take it to heart, but please fix your spelling on Curb. It gives type "A" personality people like me strokes! -not that I've ever spelled a word incorrectly! If I don't miss my guess, it's probably a typo!) [This message has been edited by Christopher (edited 09-06-99).] |

Christopher, RG is British and "kerb" is the Brit word for "curb" ... [This message has been edited by JTF (edited 09-06-99).] |

Love your poem......it's a message we should all learn from...sometimes, if we take the time to stop, we'll see something incredible, make a connection that will stay with us.. I'm sure the fox is posting a poem somewhere about his encounter with the beautiful rainbow that he saw! |

This poem elicits a riddle - What do you get when you cross a fox with a rainbow? A Queen, of course. I loved your lines, he stopped and stared back at me fox meets rainbow This is the very essence of you, m'Lady. So well done it hurts to think about writing after you. smooch |
