Homage to a Leaf A leaf fell upon my car. I drove it days near and far. It turned from green to yellow. Then brown to crusty mellow. In truth, it kept me, company. I welcomed its tenacity. For each day it stuck hard and fast. Until it fell one day at last It left me, on a sunny day. And I miss its tenacious stay. I grieve its consequential end, To me I homage it a friend. |

What a wonderful homage. You took something very simple and brought life into it, gave it a personality. I absolutely love the feelings inspired by the lines: "I welcomed its tenacity. For each day it stuck hard and fast." Beautifully written!! ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |
