ode to an unrequited internet love

to be sightless for an hour
a quiet room, away from our
virtual lives
to feel that he
were standing very near to me
a thin wall of night air between
our bodies; ah to touch his face
to slowly, delicately trace
the contours of his skin, to find
those places that when touched unwind
all thought
i sought him in a dream
one night and found a man, but he
seemed not who i had thought to see
and yet his palpably elusive form
enters my thoughts at early dawn
and stays there, mocking through the day
my vain attempts to shy away
from dreaming i'm in his embrace
sightless, in that quiet place.

enraptured by his scent, his tone
i shiver as he says, "alone
at last," and soothes me with a kiss.

this fever in my head remains
unquenched as soft, familiar strains
of gershwin reach inside my room,
and i eke out this wretched poem
with shuffling cadence, awkward rhyme,
to speak of love and kissing blind.

Exactly what 'internet romance' consists of.. your poem is haunted with longing, love and regret. Nicely done!
