A WOMEN Here is a women who is quite and proud and tells me that no one can go through her shroud. She never says what's about in her mind. When she tries, she gets in a terrible bind. So full of life and fun to be around. I can't ask what she thinks or surely I'll be drowned. What does she feel when she's all by herself? Like one lonely novel alone on the shelf? Does she wish for another's smile? Or be in the arms of myself for awhile? Does she yearn for the time she could ever share, her time and her love with someone who really does care? No women is an island, but this one could be. In her mind can she see that she needs to be free? No she's deeper than that - but maybe she fears she'll be trampled and subject to so many tears. Does she honestly feel she'd loose if she told of herself and her feelings, till she grows old? Has a man been mean and ripped up her heart? No matter what happens, it won't come apart. Somewhere there is someone to tear down the fence, and make her so happy, she won't be so tense. I dream of a time when it would be me Holding her close on a beach by the sea. Would she let the waves wash away the pain, And learn to laugh and play again in the rain? tych 3/1/99 |

I enjoyed this poem... its sad sometimes I think we should show the poems to the people we write them to and about. I wonder if it would make a difference. |
