My Father’s Love He was the good Knight, the man in shining armor; his cowboy hat was white, quiet solitude among the clamor; His were the good deeds, always knew right from wrong found lost souls in need, his love reached far and long. But it was so, when he found true love, his forever lifelong mate that he took such a simple task, made it ever great with his gaze, his desires, his tender, loving care, when he made her his wife, forever a loving pair. No words need ever be spoken, and volumes would be disclosed, simple lasting hugs were given, never the need of a rose; her eyes would truly sparkle whene’re he entered a room upon her cheeks, just there, he could always cast a bloom. Some might have wondered that they were poor in material wealth, but his smile said that their riches always came in good health and all of his life, he walked tall, with his great, grand grin for he always knew what sort of state his greatest love was in. And even when some troubles would come to disrupt their life in the worst of disasters, his love would envelope his wife; quite frankly, is there ever any more that anyone could ask to be one’s greatest love, in his grandest gifts to forever bask? There was never one without the other, and even when apart you knew always their secrets were lying there in each other’s heart; forever quiet, forever true, forever like the song of the mourning dove, she knew that she was to be forever, my Father’s only love. I shall never see another just like them, in tender love’s design but I’m so very grateful my father made this happy couple mine. ©KRJ 4 September, 1999 In memory of my parents ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Sunshine, Heartfelt sentiments, well expressed. By all means borrow my "Connection Denied." I'm honored that you see a use for it. |

What a beautiful tribute. Isn't it wonderful that we have these role models in our lives. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Marianne Williamson |

Thank you all for your comments. It's so easy to write when you have examples of true life...and that it was good, and warm. Happy Fuzzies to all. |

This is such a beautiful tribute to your Father and also to your Mother, Karilea. You had the Father of my dreams. Thank you for sharing - this poem was waiting deep in the archives for me to find it years later. Alison |
