Stunned motionless by a simple stone lying half-buried in molding browned fall leaves marking the death of a girl in the spring of her life, freshly fifteen years old; barely a date, nary a name, only two plaintive mysterious words heady and savage in their impact pleading through autumn’s earthy silence “... remember me ...” No poem or words of love could ever touch me as deeply as this unknown child’s epitaph ------------------ ...Living is ever like crossing rivers; finding a new life on each shore ...
